These exciting new commemorative view master reels were produced for the Friends of the Oregon Caves and Chateau by Rich Dubnow and Ronald Kriesel. The View Master was invented at the Oregon Caves National Monument by William Gruber and Harold Graves in 1938. In late 1939, the view master was introduced at the New York world’s Fair and was intended as an alternative to the scenic post card and was sold at photography shops, stationery stores and scenic attraction gift shops.
Rich, the lead photographer for View Master, traveled the entire globe taking photographs for their reels, and currently owns his own company Image 3D. Ron, a stereographer, has a large col-lection of historic 3D gear.

This was a great idea that they came up with. Very similar to the original viewers and seems to be pretty well made. This will make a unique coffee table conversation piece. It would also be an especially nice memorable gift for anyone that has visited the Oregon Caves. So glad we purchased it.
